Maze – Lorne

On November 23 English artist, Lorne released Maze, his debut EP, and I’ve had it playing on a constant loop since then. The four-track is incredibly unique, seeing as Lorne is a classically trained pianist who is using his talents to create beautiful songs that incorporate both his classical roots and modern sounds.

For an EP that is so short, the diversity between each track is astonishing. The songs go from deep and brooding to uplifting and poppy with ease. Not only are the instrumentals stunning, but Lorne’s vocal ability is impeccable. His voice is pristine and filled with emotion through each track. Lorne obviously puts every ounce of energy and passion into his music, and all that hard work definitely pays off!

Bad Idea – Bad Bearth

New Jersey-based band, Bad Bearth, had a really great idea when they released their first single, Bad Idea. The single can be found on their debut EP, Elephant in The Womb which was released at the end of March.

While listening to their tunes, I got an almost Kanye Vibe from them, and I really appreciated it. The music found on Elephant in The Womb is smooth and jazzy, with welcomed flairs of rap and hip-hop.

There is quite a bit of mystery that surrounds the band, but it totally adds to their appeal and overall sound. The written interviews that I’ve found of the group are full of almost cryptic answers, and whether it’s intentional or not, they’re setting themselves up to be real contenders in the music world, not only with their content creation but their personality.
