Music is FUN!

Do you guys have fun when you listen to music? I really want to know that I’m not the only person that this happens to. I get the biggest, natural high off of listening to music. I can’t help but bob my head along to the tune as a wide smile spreads across my face.

Earlier this week I listened to Bruce Springsteen’s live album “Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band Live 1975-85 and I had so much fun. It was the best possible use of my time and even though I didn’t know a lot of the songs I became so happy. I don’t know what it is about music that does this, but it’s pretty magical. As I am writing this blogpost I have The Killers blasting in my ears and I am legitimately bouncing up and down from my seat on the couch.

Music also calms me down at incredibly fast rate. This weekend I was at a FIRST Robotics Competition with my school’s team. I am a captain of the team and I am also on the drive team which means that I drive the robot during the competition. I was nervous enough in the preliminary rounds, but when our team made it into the quarterfinals I instantly got butterflies in my stomach. As the drive team was waiting for one of the rounds to start Shake it Off came on and I began to sing and dance and I forgot about the nervousness in the pit of my stomach. With my nerves gone I had time to focus on just being excited and having a good time-no matter what happened.

Let me know if music does this for you too, I’m really interested! Is there a specific band or song that makes you feel immensely happy, or could it be anything? I really enjoyed writing this blogpost and I look forward to next week’s!
