Wait…What Did You Just Sing?

Advertisements
You know when you’re jamming out to an awesome song and all of a sudden you hear “AEHSKHHOLLLEEHHOPPPLHRT” and you have absolutely no idea what the singer sang? It happens to the best of us: You hear something totally odd and you end up singing the wrong lyrics or even just mumbling. Here are three songs with lyrics I just couldn’t understand without looking up the lyrics.

     1) Smells Like Teen Spirit. I love Nirvana and I’m not dissing them in any way, shape, or form, but a lot of their music sounds kind of like mumbling and grunting. The first few times I heard the chorus all I heard was “MUMBLE GRUNT ANGRY” but after I looked up the lyrics I understood what the lyrics were. Nirvana is such a great band to jam out to and headbang.

2) Problem. Well it isn’t just Problem, but Ariana Grande’s song was really hard for me to understand the first time I heard it. She sometimes has the tendency to slur her words together (especially when she’s hitting a super high note-but that is understandable). I listened to the song a few more times and figured out what the lyrics were, so I didn’t embarrass myself while singing it! 😛

3) Pumped Up Kicks. The lyrics to this song were the bane of my existence for a year. So I got these lyrics totally mixed up and completely embarrassed myself when singing it with a group of friends. The lyrics that say “All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you better run, better run faster than my bullet.” were somehow changed to “All the other kids with the pumped up kicks better run, better run faster than my pocket.” in my mind. How? I still ask myself How I ever thought “faster than my pocket” could ever be a lyric.

Are there any songs that made you stop and say “Wait…What Did You Just Sing?” If so send me a message and let me know!! I really enjoyed writing this post and I look foreward to the next one! Don’t forget to follow and tell a friend!
