Album Review: 1989!!!

Haters gonna hate (hate, hate, hate, hate) but I’m gonna review Taylor Swift’s newest album! I have been a Swiftie since I sang “Love Story” at my 6th grade talent show, so I was super excited when I head that she would be releasing a new album. Taylor is such a talented artist-whether she is is writing new music, interacting with her fans, or playing a sold out stadium, she is flawless.

This is a photo of Taylor on her Speak Now Tour.

I have been listening to and singing songs from 1989 on repeat since I got the album. I will walk down the hallways at school singing bits and pieces from every song on the album and when people stop and look at me I look right back at them and sing louder!

My favorite song on the album is “Blank Space”. The first time I listened to the album I got halfway through and I had to go back and replay “Blank Space”. Then I played the song again. And again. And again. I love the song so much that I am singing it with my good friend at our school’s coffee house! (Video and blogpost of my performance will be posted 11/22!!)

I also really enjoy the song “Style”. The beat is so fun and upbeat and I often catch myself singing it to myself. I don’t know why, but both “Blank Space” and “Style” make me feel so confident-like I can do absolutely anything, and like I don’t have a care in the world.

Another song I like is “Wildest Dreams”. I was actually not too fond of the song when I heard it at first, but after listening to it a few more times I was hooked! The song reminds me a little bit of a Lana Del Rey song and if you know me, you know I love Lana! I also like this song because the lyrics are so beautiful and the melody is so smooth and it gives me FEELS! ALL THE FEELS!

Taylor Swift is so talented and it is amazing that she is able to write album after amazing album! As an aspiring singer-songwriter it is so awesome to see accomplished, and brave women in the music industry. I can’t wait to see Taylor on her upcoming tour, and I am excited to see what she has in store for the future. That’s it for this blogpost, don’t forget to follow and share!
